Hanger: Skyward Asce
About Hanger: Skyward Asce
Dude, you awake? Sorry it's so late, but I literally just finished playing Hanger: Skyward Asce and I can't sleep, my brain is still going like a thousand miles an hour.
Remember how I told you that description someone gave me was like, "Click the screen, and the characters hand can emit a thin thread, which hooks the top and swings. Use inertia to control the character to safely reach the finish line. There will be various obstacles along the way, so avoid touching them. Come and play."? Yeah, that's like describing pizza as "bread with toppings." Technically true, but completely misses the point.
Honestly, this game is SO much more than that. I started playing it around 8, thinking I'd just try a couple stages, and suddenly it's 11 PM. The first time I played, I was just flailing, like, my little guy, Zip, kept smashing into walls. But then, I dunno, something clicked. It’s not just about clicking. It's about this *flow* you get into. Like, you swing, and the sound of the grapple connecting, that little "thwip" sound, is so satisfying. And then you let go at *just* the right moment, and Zip just launches across the screen.
There was this one part, like "The Laser Labyrinth," where you had to swing between these moving red beams, and I kept dying, over and over. But then I realized if I did a super short swing to build momentum, then released and immediately re-grappled higher up, I could slingshot over three lasers at once. It was like, genius! I felt so smart. And the little "whoosh" sound as Zip flies, it’s just *chef's kiss*.
It's weird because I'm not usually into these super precise physics games, but this one just pulls you in. Your not just trying to reach the end, your trying to do it *smoothly*. It's like if Spider-Man was a rhythm game, but with less fighting and more pure, elegant movement. I actually caught myself thinking about optimal swing paths while I was making dinner earlier, like, "Could I have made that jump if I'd released a little later?"
It's really good. Really, really good. You gotta try it. I already told my cousin Leo about it, he's probably already downloaded it. It's just so much fun, and super satisfying when you nail a perfect run.
